Day 16: Friends
1. Tell your friends you’re praying for them. Ask them for their intentions.
2. Call or write a friend (don’t text!) and be genuinely interested in what’s happening in their life.
3. Make a new friend. Reach out to a stranger or bring an acquaintance closer
Day 17: Health
1. Name 3 health blessings in your life
2. Donate blood or platelets
3. Resolve to take better care of yourself. Today is the Great American Smoke Out - Quit Smoking! Avoid Sweets! Get an annual check up and cancer screening. Visit that doctor you’ve been avoiding. Abstain from fried foods. Eat more greens. Exercise everyday. Spend more time outdoors. Write down your goal and share it with a friend or family member who can hold you accountable.
Day 18: Mistakes
1. Name three mistakes you’ve learned from and are thankful for
2. Forgive someone who has hurt you
3. Go to confession and make good on your past mistakes. Steal something? Return what you took. Lied? Tell the truth and ask for forgiveness.
Day 19: Country
1. Pray in thanksgiving for the many freedoms American’s have.
2. Become more involved in government. Learn about the issues on the ballot, advocate for causes in line with your Catholic morals and virtues
3. Be generous towards immigrants. In the spirit of the first Thanksgiving be welcoming to visitors to our country. Read up on the USCCB's teaching on immigration: http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/human-life-and-dignity/immigration/index.cfm
Day 20 Children/Grandchildren
1. List three blessings from your children and pray for those three blessings
2. Expand your ministry/vocation and find a way to work with children in parishes
3. Be patient with children, especially in mass “If there’s no crying the Church is dying”
Day 21: Education
1. Pray for teachers and students. Pray in thanksgiving for your education.
2. Help with the education of someone. Consider creating a scholarship fund or donating time at a women’s shelter or rehab center to get people back on their feet.
3. Continue you education by learning a new trade or hobby. Be sure what you learn can be shared with God’s people.
Day 22: Personal Prosperity
1. Pray for a bountiful special collection taken today for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
2. Visit povertyusa.org to learn about the root causes of poverty. *did you know: Povertyusa.org is a Catholic website?
3. Call Catholic Charities of Lubbock to find local ways to help fight poverty. Visit PovertyUSA.org to find ways you can help throughout the nation.
